Keynote Addresses Presentation #1 with David Koyzis (Saturday morning)

Liberalism's impact on the west.
The current war on terrorism can be seen as a conflict between two ideologies, liberalism and Islamism. Liberalism has developed in five stages since the 17th century, and in its most recent manifestation it is unable to account adequately for mutual responsibility and thus has produced increasing social fragmentation.

Presentation #2 with David Koyzis (Saturday afternoon)

Islamism, terrorism, and the secular west.
Far from fading away in the modern era, traditional religious loyalties remain strong, especially in the Islamic world. The Islamist movement retains the emphases of traditional Islam while taking on some typical western ideological assumptions.

Presentation #3 with David Koyzis (Sunday afternoon)

Canada's place in the new world order.
Current efforts to address the terrorist threat, along with the rogue states sponsoring it, are being undertaken by the United Nations, the United States and many other countries. However, given the weakness of the UN and the willingness of the US, the latter is attempting to build a new world order under its own auspices. Where does Canada fit into this?
