That the World May Believe
ICS is hosting a round table discussion with contributors to the
Festschrift honouring George Vandervelde, including Margaret O'Gara
(Professor of Theology, University of St Michael's College) and Michael
Goheen (Geneva Professor of Worldview and Religious Studies, Trinity
Western University)
The ecumenical movement of the 20th century was a quest for unity born of
a missionary concern for the world. Thus, from the beginning of
present-day ecumenism, mission has been inextricably linked with unity.
This volume explores the themes of unity, mission, and their relationship.
Seventeen Roman Catholic and Protestant scholars offer essays in honour of
George Vandervelde, a leading evangelical ecumenist from the Reformed
tradition.
This Symposium brings together scholars conversant with key issues in
Ecumenical, Reformed and Roman Catholic theologies. A plenary
discussion will follow their presentations.
