ART in Orvieto 2024 dates and details will be announced in the coming months.

ACCOMMODATION & MEALS

Participants in ART in Orvieto will be housed at Monastero San Lodovico in the heart of Orvieto. The 14th century convent is operated by the Suore della Compagnia di Maria Nostra Signora and a mass is held Tuesday to Friday 7:15-8:00am. The facility features an intriguing architectural history, garden and courtyard spaces, grand entrance hall dating back to the 1700s, frescoes from the 300s-400s, and a chapel that is open to monastery guests at all times containing restored Baroque and Renaissance artworks. Program participants will stay in comfortable and modern rooms within the complex.

A family-style dining table, fresh homemade meals, and delicious Italian treats make up ART in Orvieto fare.

Living Spaces

There will be a selection of single or double occupancy rooms available all with single beds, a desk and chair, and a private en suite bathroom with towels provided.

You will be able to indicate your room preference on your application form. We will do our best to accommodate people's preferences, but accommodation will ultimately depend on room availability at the monastery at the time of booking.

During the summer months, the rooms are all provided central air conditioning.

Wifi is available in guest rooms and in the public spaces of this facility.

Meals

Continental breakfast is provided every day 8-10am by the monastery and is included in the accommodations cost.

A larger communal midday meal with program participants will be arranged at a local restaurant on weekdays for the duration of the program, and is included in the program cost.

Other meal arrangements will be made for the excursions on Fridays and are also included in the program cost.

Participants will be free to make their own arrangements for their evening meals during the week, including taking advantage of the wonderful range of restaurants in Orvieto, and for their lunches and evening meals on weekends.
